동학 창시자 최제우가 1860년(철종 11)에서 1863년까지 지은 한글본 포교 가사집이다. 1881년 6월에 제2대 교주인 최시형이 간행했으며, 『동경대전東經大全』과 함께 동학의 기본 경전 중 하나다.

This is a collection of Korean traditional hymns (gasa) aimed at propagating Donghak, written in Korean script by founder Choe Je-u, from 1860 (the 11th year of King Cheoljong’s reign) to 1863. Published by the second leader, Choe Si-hyeong, in the sixth lunar month of 1881, it stands as a fundamental scripture of Donghak along with Donggyeong Daejeon (Great Scripture of Eastern Learning).
